Shrimp Festival

The inhabitants of Honfleur await this festival with much excitement, as it brings a sense of fun to the picturesque port in autumn. The queen of the festival is the little grey shrimp, the “petite grise”, which is a local speciality. This small crustacean was an obvious choice as the symbol for an event which celebrates the maritime vocation of Honfleur: "la Fête de la crevette" with its concerts of sea shanties, shrimp peeling competition, stands, gathering of old sea vessels …
